Metadata Management
Information models created this way describe business data in a syntax-neutral way. Services created to work on data in a particular information model are automatically documented in UDDI registry with a detailed description of the information model and its various artifacts, helping developers on the other end to make sense of the service's interface. When an information model is changed, data services associated with it can be automatically updated. Instead of removing existing service bindings, a new service endpoint can be created alongside existing ones to allow time for service consumers to migrate. All users of the older service version, which can be removed at any time, will automatically become authorized for the new endpoint. Multiple XML schemas can be associated with a single information model. UnitSpace's patent-pending technology allows schemas to be bound to an information model, enabling UnitSpace BCR Server to transform data between schemas at run-time. Importantly, users do not have to manually set up multiple schema-to-schema transformation rules. Each schema owner can independently map his own schema to the shared information model definition -- UnitSpace BCR Server takes care of the rest.
